Hair Loss Got You Down?
Just for a moment I want you to throw out the entire he say she say that you have

heard about hair loss. I am going to start at the root of the problem and we will grow from there.

Normal Cycle Of Hair Growth And Loss
According to industry experts the normal cycle of hair growth lasts for approximately 2 to 6 years. Each strand of hair normally grows one (1) centimeter per month during this phase. That’s less than a half an inch. Approximately ninety percent of the hair on your scalp is growing at any one time. Approximately ten percent of the hair on your scalp, at any one time, is in a resting phase. After about two to three months, the resting hair falls out and new hair starts to grow in its place.

It’s normal to shed a little hair on a daily basis as part of this cycle. In some cases there are people who may experience excessive or more than normal hair loss. Some mistakenly think that hair loss of this type only effects man. The truth is it can effect men, women and even children.

Unlocking The Mystery Of Excessive Hair Loss
The million-dollar question that most people want to know is what causes excessive hair loss. Well continue reading as I single handedly unveil one of life’s untold mysteries. Ok… Maybe that’s a little dramatic, but you know what I mean.

One popular reason for excessive hair loss is after an illness or a major surgery. It is at this time that it is most common to experience the loss of large amounts of hair. The aforementioned hair loss is a direct result from stress illness and it is normally temporary.
Here’s where our hair loss situation starts to get a little tricky. It’s one thing to experience hair loss due to stress, but when it becomes a hormonal problem… You see if your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, you may experience abnormal hair loss. The upside to this is treating the thyroid disease can help it. Not always, but in most cases hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss, all though it isn’t guaranteed.

Women, Hormones, and Hair Loss… Oh My!
The majority of woman notice hair loss about 3 months after they have given childbirth. The reason for this is do to hormones. During the time of pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out.

Once the body returns to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and hair loss starts all over again.

Medicines Can Cause Hair Loss!
You read the headline correct. Some medicines can cause hair loss. If this is the case there is no need to worry. This type of hair loss will improve once you stop taking the medicine. At this point you are probably asking yourself what type of medicines could cause hair loss? Well… That question isn’t so easy to answer – but I will give it the old collage try. Here we go…

Medicines that most commonly cause hair loss are blood thinners, also known as anticoagulants. Medicines used to fight off gout, as well as medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, vitamin A (only if taken in large doses), birth control pills and last but not least antidepressants.

The Fungus Is Among Us
Most people find this information to be extremely shocking. Certain infections are known to cause hair loss. I’m referring to fungal infections of the scalp that can cause hair loss in children. The good news is this type of infection is easily treated with antifungal medicines.
Keep in mind, I am not a doctor nor am I a hair expert. I have done a ton of in depth research on the subject of hair loss. I am simply sharing with you my findings.

Chances are if it has to deal with hair loss you will find it somewhere on this website. I am continually adding information as I discover it.
